Monday Morning with the Saints {no. 24 – St. Quodvulteus}

Today is the Feast of Holy Innocents – a sacred remembrance of Herod’s massacre of the toddler and baby boys of Bethlehem and its surrounding areas. Their young martyrdom offered in Christ’s stead let out a terrible cry; one that resounds today amid instances of abortion and genocide. Yet they offer hope now from their place with Our Lord, and assure us that every life is life to be lived and every death suffered for Christ’s sake.

We ask their intercession for us, especially for those victims of horrible injustice.

They cannot speak, yet they bear witness to Christ. They cannot use their limbs to engage in battle, yet already they bear off the palm of victory.

    This quote keeps coming up. Father mentioned it in his homily on Monday, I read it in a reflection and now am seeing it here. I think God is showing me the beauty of these little saints and how their battle glorified God! Thanks for sharing.
