Let’s just dive right in, what do you think?
1) My husband, Andrew
Ok, so there’s no site affiliated with this Bit of Wisdom, but it bears mentioning. My husband is a total champ – having time off in the summer, he wanted to do some minor maintenance to the house that quickly shifted to a major undertaking. With little experience in handymanliness, Andrew buried himself in how-tos and emerged a household hero. His dad has been consistently and generously helpful, assisting Andrew daily in replacing rotted boards, scraping old paint, washing the whole exterior of the house, and applying gobs and gobs of new paint. On top of it all, the two of them are building a new bed for our 3 y.o. Idleness has certainly met its match in my Mr. Fix-It husband and I’m inspired by his dedication to making the house our home.
2) “My 36th Birthday” by Lindsay Boever, My Child I Love You
A friend of my sister’s keeps a lovely blog documenting sweetness from her husband and children and small revelations on faith. Though her site has become pretty popular, Lindsay remains true to her original intent to create a digital scrapbook of sorts that her children can admire later in life. Though this particular post is a fun account of her most recent birthday, she concluded with a hit-the-nail-on-the-head goal for her next year of life – one I should take on myself.
3) “What Catholics Need Now: An Open Letter to Priests and Bishops” by Emily Stimpson, Catholic Vote
This letter speaks loudly for itself. A bold supplication from a woman who I think speaks for many in the Church. Ms. Stimpson demands the Catholic Faith from Catholic clergy. What’s really cool is that her letter received TWO responses – one via YouTube and the other as a letter. An interesting dialogue to consider.
4) A Pin
Yes, this is a cheesey meme, but I think the point is GOOD. Andrew and I are far from perfect as individuals and as a couple, but we’re constantly learning how to love each other well. We’ll never be perfect, but I’m hoping to one day love him perfectly.
